Prior to the primary last month, a widely-read Boston newspaper deliberated wisely between six candidates in two parties, and then endorsed two of them for United States Senator. Fortunately, one of those two candidates won his primary. I urge all now to rally behind Scott Brown, the primary winner endorsed by that widely-read newspaper, to be our next Senator from Massachusetts.
Clearly, Scott Brown is the candidate with the most formidable qualifications. His serving in the Army National Guard for 30 years shows his zeal, hard work, and dedication to public service. In Washington, with out-of-control spending and new mountains of debt that our children and grandchildren (and so on…) will unfortunately be paying off, Scott will bring a needed breath of fresh air for fiscal responsibility amid reckless, profligate, and seemingly unbounded spending.
Perhaps the priority issue for our new Senator will be the Health Care package now being debated. I believe Scott Brown to be the best choice to help steer this in a way that does not bankrupt this nation for the ages, and does not remove half a trillion dollars away from the health care of seniors (with “seniors” potentially now defined down to 55 years old!) .
I urge my fellow Actonians to consider the notion of party balance in a Senate race with such a clear choice for a candidate with distinction and qualifications, and vote for Scott Brown to be our next United States Senator.
